Welcome to Catmandu Cats, a small CFA cattery in middle of nowhere Tennessee. Y’all think I’m kidding about the middle of nowhere? It’s an hour to a WalMart folks – in any direction! I think that’s illegal in the South! We live on the beautiful Cumberland Plateau and the drive into town any time of year gives us many “Kodak moments” so the seclusion is well worth it!  Our plan is to remain small and we breed only Himalayans. We specialize in seals, chocolate, blue and lilac points just because I love those colors. My husband and I run the cattery together as partners and all our cats are raised in our home running around underfoot. The cats are what my husband calls “free-range” Himalayans. We want to stay small because we want to give each cat and kitten the loving attention they deserve. Our kings and queens are our loving pets – they just happen to be giving us furry little bundles that we can share with you. We feel we have a responsibility to raise kittens that are well socialized and ready to love you.  

We believe in the cageless philosophy and since we are empty nesters, we can use the rooms of the house to separate cats when the need arises. For example, moms with kittens get to live secluded in our bedroom until the kittens are ready to join the rest of the crew after they have been vaccinated. Some nights we don’t get a lot of sleep, but we always know what’s going on with every kitten that way. I won’t lie to you, we do own one cage. I bought it in case we had to isolate a cat because of illness or injury – it’s never been used.   

We show occasionally on CFA’s Southern Region but that is not the main goal of our cattery. Our focus is raising beautiful cats for you to have as pets or take into the show ring as your ambitions dictate. We are just raising the best looking cats with the best purrsonalities that we possibly can!
